Best Tourist Spots Of Sylhet: Ratargul Swamp Forest, Bichanakandi and Panthumai Waterfall In One Day
Sylhet is one of the most attractive travel places of Bangladesh. It is full with many beautiful places and surrounded by their beauties.
Among them Ratargul, Bichanakandi and Panthumai waterfall are now one of the most attraction to the tourists.
Most of the places is far from the Sylhet main town. So you have to divide them as per your tour days. In this blog i'll tell you how to visit Bichanakandi, Ratargul and Panthumai waterfall in one day, travel plans, costs and various tips.
As you move around in one day and these three places are located at three separated places, you have keep an eye to your time. Leave the Sylhet city as soon as possible because time never waits.
The best time to travel these places is the monsoon and the next time is that June to September.
Ratargul Swamp Forest
Ratargul is the only one swamp forest in Bangladesh. It is located in Fatehpur union of Gowainghat upazila, about 26 k.m away from Sylhet district. There are 30,325 acres of land among them 504 acres is forest and the rest of the land is full with water. But in the rainy season all the area seem to be the same. Total area is going down under water for 4-5 months in a year. Many tourists called this forest as the Amazon of Bangladesh.
Bichanakandi
Bichanakandi (Bisnakandi) is located at the Rustampur union of the Gowainghat upazila in the Sylhet district. The main attraction of Bichanakandi is the transparent waterway and the white clouds on the big hills. If you lying down on the water, you'll feel like the stone bed under the transparent water and you will get the peace of mind that will take you back in the Bichanakandi again and again.
Panthumai Waterfall
Panthumai waterfall is located at the western jaflong union in the Gowainghat upazila. From Bichanakandi, one can easily go there by the boat. The main location of the fountain is in the India. But you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfall from Bangladesh very closely.

How to go Sylhet
If you are from remote cities first come to Sylhet city. Because wherever you come from Sylhet is the first place to come and you have to stay here by booking hotel. Start travel from night. So that, you can reach sylhet in the morning and after booking hotel you can leave for traveling these places as soon as possible.
Trains from Dhaka to Sylhet:
You can come to Sylhet by bus, trains and planes. If you want to go by trains then go to the Komlapur Railway Station , Dhaka. The Upaban Express leaves from the station at 9:50 pm (closed on Wednesday) and reaches on Sylhet station at 5 or 6 am at dawn. Train rental costs normal 265 tk, shovon chair 320 tk, first class chair 425 tk, cabin 1149 tk. Then hire a cng from sylhet station (20 tk per person) or reserve cng (100-200 tk) to go to the Sylhet city.
Sylhet Bus from Dhaka:
From Fakirapul, Sayedabad and Mohakhali bus stations The Green Line, S Alam, Saudia, Shyamoli and ANA paribahan's buses are travel to Sylhet ( AC bus usually 800-1100 tk per person and Non-AC usually 400-480 per person). The bus will stop at Kadamtoli bus stand and you can hire cng from there to come to the Sylhet city.
Chittagong to Sylhet:
You can come Sylhet by both bus and train. The Udayan Express(closed at Saturday) leaves Chittagong train station at 9:30 pm and reaches Sylhet train station at 6 or 6:30 am. To get from bus non-Ac rental 600-700 tk and AC rental 1000-1200 tk per person.
How To Turn From Sylhet
car/CNG rent:
Before leave for travel, take a short break for hotel and breakfast. You have to reserve CNG or Leguna for travel to these places. You have to take CNG/or leguna based on how many people are together. CNG is made for 4 people. CNG rental for all day 1200-1500 tk and Leguna for all day 2500-3000 tk. You must be bargained. If the tourist pressure is more they may ask for more price. Tell driver about your destination Ratargul and Bichanakandi.
How To Rotate
CNG/Leguna dcide to go first, It is better to go Bichanakandi first. Bichanakandi is far from Sylhet city. If you go to Bichanakandi, you have to go Hadarpar. It'll take almost 2 hours from Sylhet city. From Hadarpar Bazar, you have to go Bichanakandi and Panthumai waterfall by boat. Here you have to fix boat. Basically, boat rent may be 1000-1500 for Bichanakandi and Panthumai. But if the tourist pressure is high the rent price may be increased. It takes about 30-40 minutes to Bichanakandi. Spend 30-40 minutes here and then go to Panthumai waterfall. It'll take 1 hour to go there. Be careful about time and it is important thing because you have to visit more places. Then come back Hadarpar bazar and take lunch here. If you think you can not manage time then skip Panthumai and come back after seeing Bichanakandi and go to Ratargul. Because Bichanakandi and Ratargul is must to visit.
It takes about hours from Bichanakandi to Ratargul. There are several points in Ratargul. It'll take 800-1200 tk by boat. It is just amazing forest. You travel by boat into the forest. This feelings is impressive. I wish i can go there again!
Bichanakandi and Ratargul is best for photography. Then come back to your hotel.

- Talk about car rentals or boat rentals as the way that they think you are aware about the rent price.
